Feyenoord Rotterdam super kid Lateef Omidiji Jnr made his international debut as Nigeria U15s beat Morocco 3-2 in their opening match of the 2018 African Youth Games on Thursday evening.
This same team faced Morocco in two friendly matches in August 2017, losing one and drawing the other, so they got their revenge over the North Africans.
Nigeria were trailing by two goals but fought back to win the tie, with Omidiji providing two assists.
One of the goals scored by Morocco was as a result of a goalkeeping error and the other was a tap-in after a scramble in the box.
Omidiji, who marshaled the Future Eagles attack, was man-marked by two Morocco defenders but he found other ways to contribute, tracking back to win balls.
A brace from Divine Nwachukwu and an additional tally from Chidera Ejiofor secured three points for Nigeria.
In their next fixture, the defending champions will face Djibouti on Saturday, July 21, and will wrap up group play against Libya two days later.
