Premier League Round 16 Preview: Chelsea And Manchester City Meet In Title Clash

Meanwhile, Newcastle host Wolves and Everton welcome Watford
The 16th round of the Premier League will be focused on Stamford Bridge, where two contenders for the title are set to lock horns, as Chelsea look to turn around some disappointing recent form at the expense of defending champions and current table toppers Manchester City this Saturday evening (8 December). The following day, Newcastle host Wolves while on Monday night Everton welcome Watford to Goodison Park.

Before you go any further, head on over to the Oddsshark website, find your favourite betting site and get your own account up and running using your credit card. As a new customer and with the Premier League campaign close to halfway through already, there should be a wide range of promotions and special offers available to you.

First up, Chelsea welcome Manchester City to Stamford Bridge looking to put some poor form behind them. The Blues sit fourth in the table, a massive 10 points behind City having lost two of their last three league encounters – they are still scoring at a rate of over two goals per game, however.
City, meanwhile, appear to be going from strength to strength. They sit top of the pile, undefeated and are scoring at a hugely impressive rate of three goals per game, and have conceded just seven times all season – stopping them will take one almighty effort.
And it is indeed City who come into this match as the favourites to win yet again. You can back the champions to take all three points at just 1.95 while Chelsea, despite home advantage, are out at 4.00 to do the same – a draw is priced in the middle at 3.80, according to Oddsshark.
We are expecting Chelsea to pull out all the stops, however. A 2-1 win for the Blues is priced competitively at 13.00, thereby offering more than a ten-fold return on any investment, while a combo bet of a Chelsea win and both teams to score is at 6.00.
Newcastle need points against Wolves
The following day, Newcastle United welcome Wolves to St. James’ Park needing another three points to move them away from the relegation zone. The Magpies have lost just one of their last four league encounters, although they have won just three times all season and have 13 points from 15 outings – relegation form, in anyone’s book.
Wolves, by way of comparison, put a stop to two straight defeats with a huge 2-1 win over Chelsea last time out. The newly promoted club sit 12th in the table and a win this weekend could potentially move them up into the top half of the table depending on other results.
And while the betting is close, it is Wolves who come in as the slight favourites to snatch the points in this one. You can more than double your money by backing the visitors to win at 2.70, with Newcastle only slightly higher at 2.90 – a draw would appear to be the least likely outcome and is priced accordingly at 3.20.
And we are expecting Wolves to win again. A 2-1 victory for the away side is priced at 12.00, meaning that a US$5 bet would lead to a US$60 pay out, while you could more than double your money by backing over 2.5 goals in the game, at 2.37.
Everton should see off Watford
And finally, Monday Night Football is set to come from Goodison Park as Everton host Watford. The Toffees sit sixth in the table, level on points with Manchester United, but have managed just one win in their last four league outings.
And after an encouraging start to the season, Watford are also now struggling for form. The Hornets have dropped into the bottom half of the table following a run of five league games without a win and are in desperate need of arresting that worrying slide.
However, it is Everton who come into this clash as the firm favourites to get back to winning ways. You can back the home side to take all three points at just 1.80, while Watford are out at 5.00 to do the same – a draw is priced in the middle at 3.75.
This should be a fairly comfortable evening’s work for Everton. A 2-0 win for the Toffees is priced at 9.00, meaning that a US$5 bet would lead to a US$45 pay out, while you could triple your money by backing a combo bet on a home win and a “No” to both teams scoring, which comes in at 3.00.
