Tension around Ibadan South West Federal Constituency in Oyo State is on the high side, as we gradually approach the day of the election. The four major House of Representatives contenders, Saheed Akinade-Fijabi,of the All Progressives Congress, APC, who
is seeking a third term re-election, Abayomi Fagbenro (Bibire) of the Young Democratic Party, YDP, Stanley Oladeji (Odidi omo) of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP and Busari Gudu-gudu, of the Action Democratic Party, ADP, appear to have made it a matter of life and death.

You will recall that hotjist.com reported that Bibire’s supporters were allegedly attacked by the camp of Odidi-omo on the 8th of February, injuring some of them brutally. However, a source from Oladeji’s camp has refuted the claim, revealing the YDP candidate’s boys drew the first blood.

The undisclosed source revealed that, on the said date, Odidi omo’s followers were on the street pasting posters when suddenly they were attacked by members of Bibire’s party who were also on the same mission.

He added that Bibire’s ‘poster boys’ were said to have overpowered the Bibire boys in self-defence.

The third major candidate may not be soiling his own garments in street fights, but Busari aka gudu good, who was formerly a Ladoja ‘leiutenant’ and was formerly with  ADC, but left claiming some level of discrepancies existed in the party’s primaries, and joined Akala’s ADP, he appears ready to spend his way to the green chamber.

Rearing his small head behind these four is another ‘big spender’, Rotimi Ajanaku of the ZLP who is said to possess a convoy that beats that of some State governors, with uniformed Mobile Police officers driving him around.
