Joseph Omoniyi
Since the release of the official trailer of arguably the most anticipated TV show in the world, Game of Thrones season 8 about one month ago, Nigerians had joined the rest of the globe to long for its arrival. And today the wait was over as ardent fans of the show were thrilled with a public screening at Victoria Island, Lagos.
Right from the theme song, the sound of ‘hummmm’, ‘eeeeeeee’ filled the hall and one could almost touched the excitement in the atmosphere.
At the introduction of some of the widely liked characters, the massive audience applauded and hailed them like children welcoming their heroes who had been away for so long.
Expectedly, as the show progressed, there were various moments that connected with the audience emotion in a way no show had never done. From the recallable and poetic lines, to new revelations about the characters, places in the storyline, there was no dull moment.
Little wonder, the hall was a bit dissapointed when the episode came to a close. They had hoped ‘the north will forget’ and show the entire episodes of the finale in one night.
No doubt, the show has registered itself as one of the biggest television show, if not the biggest the universe has ever seen.
