A 2-year-old lion reportedly owned by an unnamed Indian national has been discovered at a residential apartment in Victoria Island area of Lagos on Sunday where it is supposedly used as a security guard.

The lion is said to be caged at number 229, Muri Okunola street in Victoria Island. The chairman of the Lagos State Taskforce on Environmental and special offences, Yinka Egbeyemi, confirmed this and said that the lion will be tranquillized and taken to the zoo.

It is still not clear how the lion got to the apartment or how long it has been there and mysteriously unnoticed nor reported earlier to the appropriate authority by the neighbourhood.
