A 21-year old Bright Ebhiomen was arraigned on Monday by Ikeja Police for threatening a branch of Fidelity Bank. The unemployed young man is facing charges of conspiracy, threat to life and attempt to steal before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court. The Prosecutor, ASP Raji Akeem, told the court that the defendant committed the alleged offences on August 20 at a Fidelity Bank branch in Ilupeju, Lagos. According to a report, Akeem had called the branch manager, Mr Uche Okam on phone and told him that his gang would come and collect their shares from the bank. The Prosecutor said the offences contravene Sections 56,406 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015. The defendant’s phone was said to have been tracked before he was arrested. He pleaded not guilty to the charges. The Chief Magistrate, Mrs. O.A. Layinka, granted the defendant N10,000 bail, with one surety. The case was adjourned till December 16 for hearing.
