LOCAL NEWS SOCIETY GIST THREE LIVES LOST AND ONE INJURED IN A FATAL ACCIDENT ALONG LAGOS-ABEOKUTA EXPRESSWAY By Admin Posted on December 20, 2019 2 min read 0 0 145 Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Google+ Share on Pinterest Ifeoluwapo Soyebi The Ogun Command of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) reported that three people died and one sustained injuries in a fatal accident involving a truck and a Bajaj motorcycle at toll-gate along Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway on Friday, December 20th. The Sector Commander of FRSC, Clement Oladele said the truck with the registration number KRD 72 XY had a brake failure and rammed into the Bajaj motorcycle, marked AKM039 UP, conveying two female passengers who were just disembarking from the bike. According to him, five persons comprising 3 male adults and two female adults, were involved in the accident and a passerby died instantly while a female passenger later died after getting to the General Hospital, Ota. “The corpse of the victims have been deposited at the General Hospital, Ifo, and the only survivor was receiving treatment at General Hospital, Ota,” he added. The FRSC commander also said that the sum of N72,930 recovered from the scene of the accident had been handed over to the victims’ relations. He, however, enjoined motorists to drive cautiously with absolute concentration and give consideration to other road users, noting that some of the crashes were avoidable and caused by nonadherence to traffic rules. Oladele commiserated with the family of the victims and prayed that the Lord will grant them the fortitude to bear the losses.
