Without a doubt, Nigeria, as a country is so blessed with millions of talented and exciting men and women some of who rise to the status of celebrity. However, the nation has also over the years witnesses untimely departure of its stars. When such a celebrity dies at a young age, it saddens the heart as they often leave the glamourous scene after displaying amazing and promising talents that would have spanned into a wonderful career.

In this report, Hotjist has highlighted some of these late celebrities departed the face of glory before they clocked age 40. They are listed below in no particular order;

1 BISI KOMOLAFE

Bisi Komolafe Veronica was a Nigeria Actress, film director and producer who was best known for her role in the movies “ Igboro Ti Daru” and ‘’Aramotu”. She died at the age of 27, on 31 December 2012. It was confirmed that she died of pregnancy-related complications at the University College Hospital, Ibadan and was buried January 4th, 2013 in Ibadan

2 DAGRIN          

Oladapo Olaitan Olaonipekun popularly known as Dagrin was a Nigeria rapper from Ogun State who died at the age of 25 on the 22nd April 2010 after he was involved in a ghastly vehicle accident which happened in the early hours of April 14, 2010, when his car collided with a trailer in front of Alaka Police Station off Agege motor road mushin Lagos. It was stated that he died on the 22nd of April at exactly 6 pm.

3 OLAMIDE DAVID

He was a Nigerian male kid actor who died so early. Olamide was best known for playing the lead role in the movie ‘Cobweb’. However, he died January 18, 2016, at Ikeja  General Hospital after sustaining a fatal abdominal injury while playing football. Olamide died at the age of 13

4 MC LOPH

Obiajulu Nwaozo known as MC Loph was a Nigerian musician who died on Wednesday, September  14, 2011, in a fatal road accident along the neglected Benin-Ore road, Edo State at the age of 33years. He died when he was traveling home with his fiancée, elder sister, lastborn and cousin for his traditional marriage on Saturday, September 17. Mc Loph and his sis died on the spot while his little cousin died after as a result of spinal cord Injury while his wife escaped death and it was reported that she was responding to treatment in Lagos State.

5 TOSYN BUCKNOR

Tosyn died at the early of 37( 15 August 1981- 19 November 2018). Oluwatosin Bucknor was a Nigerian media personality, actress and social media content creator. She was found dead by her husband, Aurelien Boyer when he arrived home from work on November 19, 2018. However, her sister Funke Bucknor Obruthe said through her Instagram account that Tosyn died due to sickle cell complications and she was born with sickle cell anemia.

6 MUNA OBIEKWE

Muna was a popular Nigerian actor who died from kidney disease at the age of 36 on January 18, 2015. Also, he was the first cousin to Nigerian Veteran actor Yul Edochie. He was found vomiting blood at his home where he was rushed to the hospital and was pronounced dead on arrival. Muna left behind him a wife and two kids.

7 GOLDIE HARVEY

Susan Oluwabimpe who is best known as Goldie Harvey was a Nigerian professional singer and a Big Brother Africa Star. She died 4th of February 2013 at the age of 31 ( 23rd October 1981- 14th February 2013) .

 After she returned home from the 2013 Grammy Awards in Los Angeles, California she complained of headache and was rushed to the hospital where she was confirmed dead. Rumour has it that she died as a result of drugs but her husband denied all possibilities. However, an autopsy conducted by the Department of Pathology and Forensic Medicine of Lagos State University Teaching Hospital said she died of hypertensive heart disease which triggered an Intracerebellar hemorrhage.

8 ZARA GRETTI

Margaret Mary Oluwatoyin Ejiro Joseph, also known best as Zara Gretti was a Nigerian Singer who passed away on March 28, 2014, at the age of 23. She lost her life after a long term battle with multiple Sclerosis; a nervous condition that affects the ability of nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord to communicate effectively. Zara had been receiving treatment in the United State where she died eventually.

9 FADA U-TURN

Fada U-Turn died at the age of 36 after a long battle of kidney-related disease. A family member disclosed that he had been on admission for over 10days before his death. He is a dance hall artist, songwriter, Tv presenter, and recording artiste. Fada U-turn died at a local hospital, Abundant Grace located at Ajombadi bus stop Ojo Lagos.

10 NELSON GOLD

Nelson Gold was said to have died after he slumped at a movie location in Enugu State and was rushed to the hospital while he remained in Comma until he passed out. It was sad that nelson left this world a few days after celebrating his 22nd birthday June 5, 2018. He died 14th June 2018 at the age of 22.

11 OKWY CHUKWUJEKWU ( BOSSMAN)

Bossman is a comic actor. He died suddenly on Tuesday 15th September 2017 at the age of 27. A doctor who is also a Nollywood producer confirmed that he is an asthmatic patient. He said when he was brought to the hospital he thought Bossman was putting on an act for him not until he looked closer to find he was lifeless.

12  ALIZEE

Zainab Ali-Nielsen fondly known called Alizee was shot dead by her Danish husband Peter Nielsen Schau, on Thursday, April 5th, 2018 in her home at Banana Island Lagos. It was also reported that the husband also killed her 4year old daughter by poison dragging them to gas placement in the house to claim it was Gas suffocation that led to their death.

13 KEFEE

Kefee Obareki Don-Momoh ( known by her music stage name Kefee) is a Nigerian female gospel singer and Composer. She died at the age of 34 ( February 5, 1980- June 12, 2014). Kefee has been in Coma for about 15 days before she died of lung failure at a hospital in Los Angeles, California and was buried on Friday 11,2014 in her hometown Okpara Inland, Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State Nigeria. However, her album “Trip” which she released made a way for her into the Nigerian Music Scene as a Gospel Artiste.

14 CLEM OYEKA

Clem is a Nigerian actor and filmmaker who died at the age of 37 on October 14th, 2014. He was killed during a fierce gun battle between some suspected armed robbers and police officers where he got hit by a stray bullet from the robbers at the time of the sad incident.

The bullets penetrated through his skull which led to severe head injury and blood loss where he died on spot, he is married and had three killed before he died.

15 DJ OLU

Gbemiga Abiodun known as DJ Olu was the son of the Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun. DJ Olu was signed as the official DJ of Davido DWM music label. He was found dead alongside a friend in his car on Saturday, 7th of October.in a BMW car in a garage on Block B, Banana Island Lagos.
