Dutch man Hospitalised after Waiting 10 Days for Chinese lover at the Airport
A 41-year-old man from Holland has been hospitalised in China due to physical exhaustion after waiting for his “girlfriend” at the airport in Hunan province for 10 days.
According to BBC, Alexander Pieter Cirk met the Chinese woman,Zhang, 26 online, and according to him, their romance blossomed and he decided to fly all the way to China to visit her.
When she didn’t show up at the airport after his arrival, Cirk decided to wait it out. He refused to leave the airport, but was eventually hospitalised after 10 days of waiting.
Zhang contacted the local TV station, Hunan TV, that reported Cirk’s story. She told them that she thought it was a joke.
“We had advanced our romantic relationship but later he seemed a little callous towards me. One day he sent me a photo of air tickets abruptly and I thought it was a joke. He didn’t contact me later,” she said.
According to her, by the time Cirk arrived at the airport, she was away having plastic surgery in another province and had turned off her phone.
Cirk reportedly flew back to Holland after receiving treatment at the hospital.
