Federal Government Donates Relief Materials to Yobe IDPs
The federal government has donated relief materials to some Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) to cushion their six-year suffering in the hands of Boko Haram terrorists.
The minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Senator Amina Jummai Alhassan, disclosed this in Damaturu when she presented the materials at the Pompomry Camp.
According to her, she was in the state for advocacy and enlightenment visit and interaction with the internal displaced persons (IDPs) in the state and to assess their condition of living.
The items presented by the minister include 500 mosquito nets, 250 pieces of 3/6 mattresses, 250 pieces of 2/6 mattresses, 250 towels, 500 pillows, 500 cartons of wash, 250 wrappers, 500 cartons of wash soap, 500 slipass and 500 baby pampers to celebrate Eid-el-Kabir.
Responding, the state governor, Ibrahim Gaidam noted that the visit would give the minister the opportunity to assess and see the various efforts being made by the state government to address the problems of women generally and those of widows and orphans.
