Kwara state government prepares for 2017 Budget
The Kwara State government says next year‘s budget will be prepared with hindsight knowledge of the current economic realities in the state and Nigeria as a whole.
To this end, the proposals are to be well structured and based on realistic revenue projections and a reliable data to ensure effective monitoring and evaluation.
The State Commissioner for Planning and Economic Development, Mr Wasiu Odewale said this at the twenty-seventeenth budget preparation Central Budget Committee Meeting, which took place at the State Ministry of Finance, Ilorin.
According to him, each ministry, department and agency proposal should be prepared alongside the principle of critical success factor to enable the state deliver its promises of good governance to the people of the state.
Mr Odewale noted that the budget would be prepared in line with the zero-based budgeting approach.
The Commissioner added that the main push of the twenty-seventeenth budget is the provision of infrastructure that would deepen the socio-economic development of the state and enhance the welfare of the citizenry.
