Father Commits Suicide Live On Facebook Over Daughter’s Engagement
54-year-old father has committed suicide on Facebook live much to the shock of everyone watching over his daughter’s engagement.
Ayhan Uzun, of Kayseri in central Turkey, was inconsolable after he found out that his daughter got engaged without his permission.
He spoke directly to the camera before suddenly whipping out a handgun with his left hand and firing a single shot into his temple. He died immediately.
According to a translation by the Mirror online, Uzun said; “Goodbye, I am leaving, take good care of yourselves,”
Earlier in the livestream, Uzun had explained that he had found out of his daughter’s ‘happiest day’ in a phone call with his wife adding that he was not consulted.
“Nobody asked me,” Uzun said. “Nobody treated me like a man. My father-in-law took my place and without having a right, he approved my daughter’s wedding … Nobody said this girl’s father is alive. Though I would have waited for my daughter and family to say to me: ‘Come, Father, be with us.’”
“A little later I will put an end to my life with the gun I am holding in my hands,” he concluded after rebuffing attempts from everyone who pleaded with him not to end his life.
