FORMER ETISALAT BOSS, MATTHEW WILLSHER RESUMES AT CONOIL PLC

There are indications that the former Chief Executive Officer of Etisalat Nigeria; Matthew Willsher has resumed as the Managing Director of Conoil Plc.
Willsher resigned as CEO- Etisalat Nigeria in July 2017 after its Emirati non-executive directors (NEDs), representing the interests of Mubadala Development Company and Emirates Telecoms Group Company (Etisalat Group) also stepped down from the board, following the Nigerian company’s inability to meet its loan repayments amounting to $1.2 billion to 13 Nigerian banks.
Insider sources at Conoil Plc revealed that Willsher resumed there on Thursday, November 1, 2017 and is yet to be officially introduced to members of staff of the Nigerian downstream oil sector giant.
Willsher was said to have declined offers from several Nigerian and foreign companies who scrambled to have him on-board their businesses but rather settled for the Mike Adenuga owned company. The Mike Adenuga Group is known to attract the best set of professionals from all around the world due to their mouth watering salary package and vision of Dr. Mike Adenuga Jnr.
Willsher is expected to apply his experience in Telecoms to also offer revolutionary ideas to other businesses of the Mike Adenuga Group such as Globacom Ltd in Nigeria, Ghana & Benin Republic.
As at press time, all efforts to reach the Human Resources department of Conoil Plc to shed more light on the development proved abortive.
Matthew Willsher who holds a first degree in Physics & masters degree in Management has professional experience of almost 30 years spanning from Procter & Gamble, LG Telecoms South Korea, Hong Kong CSL Ltd, Maxis Communications BHd Malaysia just to mention a few.
