Everton confirm Sam Allardyce appointment
Everton have confirmed that they have appointed Sam Allardyce as the club’s new manager.
On Wednesday, the Toffees announced that Allardyce would be in attendance for the club’s Premier League clash with West Ham United – a game which was won 4-0 – ahead of signing a deal to replace Ronald Koeman.
The Merseyside outfit have now officially appointed the former England and Crystal Palace boss, who has penned an 18-month contract at Goodison Park.
The 63-year-old told the club’s official website: “Everton is a unique club and I feel really enthused and energised to come in as manager.
“Obviously the club has gone through a difficult spell and hopefully I can put that behind us as quickly as possible.”
Allardyce’s first game in charge will be at home to Huddersfield Town on Saturday afternoon, with interim boss David Unsworth returning to the Under-23s
