Kannywood’s Ali Artwork conferred as King of Hausa Comedy
The Hausa/Fulani Youth Development and Orientation Forum (HAFYDOF) has enthroned Kannywood’s comedian, Aliyu Muhammad Idris as the King of Hausa Comedy.
The comedian also known as Ali Artwork was conferred with the title at Arewa House in Kaduna yesterday.
National President of the forum, Alhaji AbdulAzeez Muhammad Tibibi said that the reason behind enthronement of the comedian was because of his ability to promote the northern culture and his incessant callings for the Nigerian youth to shun political thuggery.
He said, “Artwork has been on the fore front in using his shows to called on youths to eschew violence, to stop taking illicit drugs, to stop being agents of political thuggery and to involve themselves in small and medium scale business and also to embrace agriculture.”
He added that the comedian has also been using a lot of unique comedy ways in entertaining, educating and informing audience.
“Due to his love for the North, his stage name is ‘An Arewa Comedian’. We conferred him with title of King of Hausa Comedy to serve as morale booster for him to continue with the good work he has been doing. He said.
In his acceptance speech, the comedian, Aliyu Muhammad Idris expressed his happiness over the title and promised to do more in showcasing the north to the world.
“To be conferred with such title was a big achievement for me, I am glad and happy that out of hundreds of northern comedians I was choose and conferred with such title. With this I pledge to do more.” He said.
