Conte Rues Norwich Draw, Hits Back At “Little Man” Mourinho
Chelsea has expressed his disappointment that they will have to replay their third round Emirates FA Cup tie against Championship club Norwich City.
On Saturday, Chelsea without first team regulars like Victor Moses, Eden Hazard, Cesc Fabregas, N’Golo Kante, Thibaut Courtois and Marcos Alonso, failed to breakdown a resolute Norwich as they were forced to a 0-0 draw at Darrow Road.
“It’s a bit frustrating. We knew the difficulty of the game. When you play away in this competition it’s not easy,” Conte said in his post-match comments. “It was a pity, but great commitment from our players. We tried to win the game but we must accept the final result.
“In the first half we had difficulty to attack but in the second half we created chances to score.
“We have to play another game – the schedule is busy.
“Norwich deserves to have another game. For us it’s not simple to add another game in the schedule.
“These are the rules though.”
And reacting to Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho’s match-fixing jibes towards him on Friday, Conte said: “I think when there are these types of comments, the comments you try to offend the person and don’t know the truth then you are a little man. Maybe he’s a little man in the past, a little man in the present and maybe a little man in the future.”
