Health minister leads panel treating Buhari’s son
The Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole, is the leader of a medical team currently providing treatment for President Muhammadu Buhari’s son, Yusuf, who was involved in a motorbike accident in Abuja recently.
Wife of the President, Aisha, disclosed this in a “thank you” message she posted on her verified Instagram page, aishambuhari.
She thanked Nigerians for their prayers and the medical team who she said ensured that Yusuf remained stable while receiving treatment.
The message read, “On behalf of my family, I will like to thank well-meaning Nigerians for their prayers in the past week.
“Special thanks to the team of doctors and specialists who have worked tirelessly to ensure that my son, Yusuf remains stable.”
Meanwhile, a group of adventure motorcyclists have condemned efforts to disparage superbike riders, following a December 27 biking accident involving Yusuf.
The motorcyclists, in a statement by Syreeta Akinyede, on Saturday, expressed disapproval over the “unfounded” allegation that superbike riders were “rich, irresponsible and reckless drug addicts.”
Part of the statement read, “In the wake of Yusuf Buhari’s motorcycling accident, there has been a trail of condemnation of superbike riders, and the practice of riding superbikes, with an article published online on December 31, 2017, citing Yusuf’s accident as proof for the need for a strict regulation for superbike riders.”
