HIPHOP AS AN ART IN NIGERIA by Olukanni Oyindamola (@Rottydam)

For some of us that really love #HipHopand the common HipHop #music known as RAP, we can gladly tell you that the #culture is ‘dead’ here.
We have a few so called RAP heads, not HipHop heads that can’t stand up for the culture, they have been crippled by the #Pop World and situations around them.
God bless the days when the likes of Obi Asika had dope rap shows on TV. The days of Last Poet, JAJ the Mechadon etc.
What we have now is a bunch of guys hiding under the HipHop Culture Umbrella.
The major HipHop guys here are #undergrounds artistes, but ask yourselves, what has the so called HipHop heads done to bring them to limelight? NOTHING!!! No major RAP concert. No major RAP show. It’s been some brands taking advantage of the culture to sell.
Have you seen the #graffiti by one Uprisin at Dopemu Underbridge? Now, that’s HipHop.
Well, the movement will soon be televised.
