SUPER EAGLES INVITEE UGONNA ANYORA EYES CONTINENTAL TICKET WITH RANGERS
Ugonna Anyora, a midfielder who returned to the domestic league this
term following an unsuccessful stint in Europe says former NPFL
champions Enugu Rangers have their eyes set on a continental ticket
this season. .
Anyora joined Rangers from Assyriska FF Sweden and is one of three
former Europe based players who signed for the Coal City Flying
Antelopes for the ongoing 2017/2018 NPFL.
Felix Onyedika Ogbuke is also among the returnee trio.
“The last time Angers played in the (CAF) Champions League, that was
last year, they didn’t do too well”, Anyora said.
“This time, our desire is to help the club get a continental ticket so
that we can go back to the continent and see what we can do”, he
added.
Anyora spent six seasons in the Norwegian top league before moving to Sweden.
He started out his Europe career with Haugesund in 2010_2015 making 86
appearances before moving to Honefoss in 2015-2016.
There, he played 22 games in the only season he stayed and scored three goals.
Since his return, Anyora has featured five times for Rangers and made
two assists.
“We did not start well in the season but we are gradually picking up.
“Hopefully, our objective will come to reality, at least we can finish
among the top three.
“That can guarantee us a place on the African continent”, the player emphasised.
