AISHA BUHARI SEEKS STAKEHOLDERS INVOLVEMENT IN MATERNAL MORTALITY REDUCTION

The wife of the Nigerian president, Aisha Buhari is called on key stakeholders involvement in bridging the gap of global maternal mortality ratio to less than 70 per 100,000 births,
Aisha Buhari made this call at the south west regional three day training workshop on advocacy for reproductive maternal newborn child adolescent and nutrition in Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital.
Our Ogun state correspondent Murtala Adeyemo reports that the wife of the president, represented by the wife of the speaker,house of representative, Gimbiya Dogara expresses optimism that the training will influence the indices of marternal and child mortality ratio aimed at improving the health and wellbeing of women and children in Nigeria.
On her part,  wife of Ogun state governor, Olufunsho Amosun says no women should die in the process of giving birth and neither should children die in the process of coming to life. She says the reproductive maternal newborn child adolescent and nutrition training initiative of Nigeria’s First Lady, if well harnessed will impact greatly on the reduction of untimely death amongst women and children.
