FG DESTROYS OVER 80 MILLION NAIRA FAKE PRODUCTS.

Federal government has destroyed over Eighty million naira worth of various categories of regulated counterfeit and fake products.
Director General, NAFDAC, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye who addressed newsmen recently during the periodic exercise on destruction of expired fake medicine and other wholesome regulated product in Kuje area council, Abuja said NAFDAC is waging war against counterfeit and fake drugs.
She noted that some of these expired products were voluntarily forfeited to NAFDAC by companies and non governmental organizations and though enforcement activities of the Agency.
Health Correspondent, Linda Ike reports that Adeyeye further assured of the agency’s continuous deployment of effective strategies to ensure violators are not only arrested but also face the full wrath of the law.
Chairman Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria, Jelili kelani therefore urged Nigerians not to engage in trafficking of fake and adulterated drugs to avoid exposing their lives into danger.
NAFDAC however appealed for continuous support and collaboration in tackling the menace of fake, counterfeit and wholesome regulated products.
