HOUSE OF REPS MEMBERS FROM BENUE WARNS IGP TO STAY CLEAR OF POLITICS.

Benue State caucus in the House of Representatives have warned the Inspector General of Police to stay clear  of politics and restrict himself to the role of maintaining law and order.
Leader of the Caucus, Hon. John Dyegh on Wednesday while addressing newsmen said the force PRO, Moshood Jimoh’s words against the Governor of Benue is hate speech adding that it’s therefore a criminal act.
The Lawmaker further condemned the calls for the resignation of Governor Samuel Ortom by the Nigeria Police, as openly canvassed by Jimoh on a Television station.
House of Representatives correspondent, Linda Ike, reports that  the Benue state lawmakers claimed that the Governor has done excellently well to protect the lives and property of all residents of Benue State within the limits of his powers and the provisions of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Speaking further, the lawmakers called on security agencies to arrest and prosecute the leaders of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore for their alleged  indictment in the killings in Benue State.
They also urged soldiers deployed to Gboko and other parts of the state, and indeed the entire country to maintain peace and order,  be professional in their conduct and employ the conventional rules of civil engagements in the course of their duties.
The caucus also reiterated its resolve that there is no land for cattle colonies or grazing routes in Benue State, adding that all livestock farmers in the state must abide by the provisions of the Anti-Grazing Law.
