TINUBU IN APC HEADQUATERS
The national leader of the All Progressive Congress Asiwaju Bola Tinubu visited the APC national secretariat on Wednesday. The visit came few days after the former governor of Lagos state was appointed by President Muhammad Buhari to lead the reconciliation committee of the party ahead of the 2019 elections.
The meeting between Tinubu and national officers of the party lasted for about four hours.
It was a visit many were looking forward to since Bola Tinubu was appointed by his party to reconcile warring factions across the country. The national leader of the APC was received by the national chairman John Oyegun, the Deputy National Chairman South, Segun Oni, the party’s Publicity Secretary Bolaji Muhammed and other officers.
After about four hours behind closed doors, Tinubu emerged accompanied by APC officers to the waiting hands of journalists who are eagerly waiting to hear the outcome of the closed door meeting. The conversation between Tinubu and the journalists suggests all may not be well with the ruling party as the national leader dodged question posed to him.
He said his visit to the secretariat of the part is to consult with patry leaders on the way forward in the country.
Obviously the task before the national leader is enormous but the party said it will give every support needed to achieve success. The Publicity Secretary of the party Bolaji Abdulahi explains the terms of reference of the reconciliation committee.
More than 15 out of the 23 states controlled by the APC is experiencing different kind of internal crisis which analysts say can jeopardize the chances of the party in 2019.
