Why I used Wizkid’s ‘Daddy Yo’ for ‘Pacific Rim’ – John Boyega
British-Nigerian actor, John Boyega, has revealed why he used Star singer, Wizkid’s song ‘Daddy Yo’, among the soundtrack for his upcoming film ‘Pacific Rim’.
The star of ‘Detroit’ and ‘Star Wars’, said he had the opportunity to influence creative choices in the film so it was important to have Afrobeats music in the action flick.
The Hollywood star had in December disclosed that “Pacific Rim”, would heavily target Nigeria as a main marketing spot.
Boyega on his Instagram wrote “One of the most exciting things about producing Pacific Rim Uprising was the opportunity to influence the creative choices.
”So I put @wizkidayo song “Daddy yo” in the movie. Jaegers need afrobeats too!
“Oh yeah… here’s a video of me listening to this very song. Cool, calm and collected. I think”.
