Oil Producing Communities Protest Payment of Tenement Rate At NASS.
Oil producing communities in the Niger Delta have protested disparities in payment of tenement rate by Shell Nigeria.
This was made known on Tuesday while they besieged OIL Producing the entrance of National Assembly with mounted blockade to decry the imbalance payments.
The Spokesman of the angry group, Chief Hezekiah Odede said the imbalance in payment cannot continue as his members are set to make the matter public
He noted that while some of them are paid the agreed sum of N600, 000 annual rates, others receive N200, 000.
The protesters numbering over 50, said they were at the National Assembly to let the legislature know their plight and for them to intervene on their behalf.
