Arsenal have announced that defensive midfielder Mohamed Elneny has signed a contract extension at the Emirates Stadium.
The length of the new deal penned by the Egypt international is undisclosed, described only as “long term” by the Premier League side.
Elneny had been locked in talks with Arsenal over fresh terms in North London, despite being strongly linked with a move away last summer, and it is rumoured that he has now been tied down until 2022.
A statement on the club’s official website read: “We’re pleased to announce that Mo Elneny has signed a new long-term contract. We would like to congratulate Mo on his new contract and look forward to his continued contribution in the coming seasons.”
Elneny has made 24 Premier League starts since joining Arsenal from Swiss side Basel in January 2016.
