EPL: Why Man City will not be confirmed champions with victory against Spurs
Read Time:45 Second
Manchester City could wait up to two weeks to be crowned Premier League champions, even if they defeat Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley next weekend.
Pep Guardiola’s men failed to win the title at The Etihad on Saturday, after they threw away a two-goal lead to lose 3-2 to Manchester United on Saturday.
This means the gap between them and United in second place has been reduced to 13 points with six fixtures left.
Jose Mourinho’s men host relegation-threatened West Brom in their next game, which they would most likely win.
If City also beat Spurs, they would have to wait one more week at least, as the 13-point gap doesn’t mathematically make them champions.
Guardiola will however have a chance to win the league, when they host Swansea City in Match Week 35.
