Reps Condemn The Carting Away Of Mace In The Senate.

The House of Representatives has condemned in totality the carting away of the mace from the senate during plenary on Wednesday.
The lawmakers who did not allow the scenario at the Senate to affect sitting in the green chamber, also urged the security agencies to recover the maze within twenty-four hours.
House of Representatives correspondent Linda Ike, reports that members of the house suspended plenary for 30 minutes to visit senate in the red chamber in solidarity.

There after the solidarity visit the House reconvened plenary to deliberate on the sudden incident where majority leader, Femi Gbjabiamila, condemned the incidence in the senate adding that it affects both chambers.
Gbajabiamila who came under matters of public importance through the house standing order expressed disappointment that the incident happened on a day when the chamber is expecting visiting parliamentarians from Ghana.
Other members in their condemnation on the incident said the act portrays impunity in the country’s democracy noting that this can only be likened to a total collapse of the nation’s Democratic system.
The lawmakers further called for the unraveling of the issues surrounding the circumstances and circumvent it.
The house further in the resolutions on the matter urged the security agencies to recover the mace within twenty four hours in concurrence to the directives of the senate.
