Comedian, Ebiye Victor, has apologised for his comments after Aramide Sarumoh won the Best Alternative Song at the Headies award held on Saturday.
Ebiye posted the apology on his Instagram page after he was bashed by Nigerians for insinuating that the singer influenced her win by sleeping with the award organisers.
He wrote: “I made a distasteful joke about @aramidemusic last night at the headies. I am embarrassed by my comments and I am profusely sorry. Aramide is a hardworking artist who deserves every recognition she gets by merit. I sincerely apologize and pledge that such will not repeat itself again.
I pledge to control my words in the future as things said and written cannot be taken back. ❤”

He has apologized. He should be forgiven.
But we won’t forget in a hurry; that’s on him.
what an insult. .that fool ebiye can’t recognize a real act even if its thrown at his face..I’ve seen @AramideMusic perform couple of times, not more than 3 artist on her level in Nigeria i repeat not more than 3..Asa, Brymo then one more artist that i can’t think of right now
Ebiye shouldn’t have said that. Implying that a lady slept with someone to win an award is outrageous and demeaning. We should have moved past things like this by now.
