He calls her up at the moment and asked what she was up to and she told him she came to fix her phone and that she had been there for a while.
He suggested she come over to his place(which was close to the phone repair shop) to chill, pending when they would be done fixing her phone and she agreed. He described the direction of his place to her and she went over to his place to chill. When she got there, he received her warmly,served her a drink and snack, and asked her to make herself comfortable. They engaged in a conversation and he made her laugh that she forgot all the stress she was passing through that day. It was getting late and it was time for her to get home. She put a call through to the shop where her phone was being fixed and they told her she wouldn’t be getting her phone that day ‘cos they couldn’t finish with the work and that she’d get it the next day… another opportunity to see her fun friend.
She came around the next day to get her phone and she visited him again and this time,she felt free around him… mind you,he didn’t try to touch her. He suggested they watch a series(THE GATE) together. she was surely enjoying his company. All these happened in a week and she finally had a friend whom she could talk to and visit. She kept going to his place to complete the series.
Was it really the movie that kept taking her back to his place? lol.
One fateful day, she was really sad and the only person who could calm her down was him. He spoke to her,giving her words of encouragement to soothe her nerves. After the whole charade on that day, he asked her to be his girlfriend…wow! She, without hesitation,said yes and he kissed her warmly, and there and then, she let go of the hurt, the betrayal, the disappointment and fear she felt in her heart and embraced the present with open arms and heart.
This was nothing like her past relationship/experience. Days turned into months, months into years and it just went/goes on. she is happy,it is nothing like a random love story. Some people think a hopeless place to find love is in a club and that it wouldn’t last because it will either end in a night stand or fling but these two found love in a hopeless place and are still flourishing together, falling in love with each other everyday,doing adventurous things together and supporting each other. No one knows when love is coming, it just happens. It just comes around and knock you down, just like Keri Hilson said in one of her songs.
It could either break you or make you,but we hope for the latter. It is the greatest gift of all and in this story, love made her. Don’t lose love either because of your past experience or the sad stories you hear from others.
Love doesn’t make you weak, it makes you stronger.
