Messi Lead Invincible Barcelona’s Destruction Of Villarreal
Barcelona kept their unbeaten league run this season to 36 games on Wednesday after defeating Villarreal 5-1 in a Spanish LaLiga fixture.
Goals from Philippe Coutinho, Paulinho, Lionel Messi gave the Blaugrana a 3-0 lead into the break.
Nicola Sansone scored Villarreal’s only goal in the encounter 10 minutes after the restart to make it 3-1 but a late brace from Ousmane Dembele sealed the win for champions Barcelona.
Coutinho gave Barcelona the lead in the 11th minute. Paulinho made it 2-0 five minutes later.
Messi scored Barcelona’s third goal on the stroke of half time, his 34th LaLiga goal this season.
In the second half, Sansone pulled one back for Villarreal before a brace from Dembele in the last three minutes secured an emphatic win for Barcelona.
