HOW KELECHI NWAKALI CAN STILL MAKE NIGERIA’S WORLD CUP SQUAD
The performance of Kelechi Nwakali in Tuesday’s 3-2 friendly loss the
Super Eagles B team suffered in the hands of Atletico Madrid has led
to talks of a possible inclusion in Nigeria’s provisional World Cup
squad.
Nwakali who is on the books of English Premier League giants Arsenal
scored a spectacular goal to crown his impressive all round display
during the entire duration of the game.
Watched by Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr, the German could be tempted to
add him to his squad if one of the 30 players in his provisional list
suffers an injury.
Per FIFA rules, a player not on the provisional list of a country
heading to the World Cup can be included if one of the players in the
list suffers an injury ruling him out of the tournament.
A replacement can be added to the pool and it is only possible 24
hours before the first game of the tournament which starts in June.
Meaning bar injury to any of the players in the Eagles list, Nwakali
will not be added to the Eagles squad
