OKOCHA WARNS NIGERIANS NOT TO EXPECT MUCH FROM SUPER EAGLES
#MTNShortz3Sixtyworld
Former Super Eagles midfielder, Austin Okocha says Nigerians should
set a target of qualifying from the group stage for the Super Eagles
rather than expecting too much from the team.
The midfield maestro who was a guest in a radio programme monitored in
LagosĀ on ThursdayĀ noted that the current Super Eagles squad do not
have too much experience going to the World Cup.
He said: ā€œMost of them are going there for the first time. They should
enjoy the moment and put up their best performanceā€
ā€œExperience is the best teacher and I believe that we should not
expect too much from the team in Russia. We should set a realistic
target for them. First, qualify from the group. Then, can they take it
on from thereā€
ā€œIt is possible that they may not have the opportunity to play at the
World Cup again after this, so they should try to make a good use of
it,ā€ he added.
The Eagles recent performance in their pre-World Cup friendlies has
ignited fresh questions about their ability to progress in a group
where they are the least ranked team.
