Rot in Nigeria civil service – Elders statesman, Inaolaji
Trending now: #mtnshortz3sixtyworldThe Association of Retired Heads Service and Permanent Secretaries in Osun state is advocating for a return to pre-military civil service era where its independence was the order of the day.Chairman of the Association, Pa Inaolaji Abowaba who noted that the civil service needs a reform to provide required service spoke at a press briefing ahead of a book launch of the association in Osogbo.Correspondent Abass Okandeji reports that Pa Abowaba said, the reason for the publication of the book titled “The Civil service as a cornerstone for development of Osun” is to launch an aggressive but non-violent campaign for effective and efficient service delivery by the civil service.Addressing the question of politization of the civil service, the association blamed the military for bringing politicians to head ministries in their time thereby introducing corruption and bastardizing the system. They called on the government to give them the chance to train civil servants in the state as a way to give back to the public service.
