Arsenal are mocked after new manager’s head blocks letters on club magazine cover to spell a VERY rude word
Arsenal have been mocked mercilessly online after the new manager’s head has blocked out key letters on the club magazine’s cover to spell out a very rude word.
On the Premier club’s July issue, new coach Unai Emery confidently poses with his arms crossed and a slight smile, not knowing he would soon become the butt of a joke.
Behind his head, instead of spelling out Arsenal, his head blocks out ‘rse’, turning the club’s name into an unprintable word.
Sport fans were quick to notice the X-rated blunder, taking to social media to ruthlessly mock the club.
Ironically, the gaffe comes as the magazine announced that the July issue would be its last ever edition.
Emery, 46, was chosen to be on the cover after replacing Arsene Wenger for the top managing job.
The magazine has managed to avoid the error in the past, with cover stars strategically positioned below the word Arsenal.
Social media had a field day with the rude word on the cover.
Dan Jude tweeted: ‘New Arsenal magazine cover hits bum note.’
Rhodri Andrews wrote: ‘I’m not convinced this mistake on the front cover of the last ever issue of Arsenal magazine is coincidence…’
Martin quipped: ‘You’d think first rule of design at Arsenal mag was: Don’t ever let front cover image block the letters rse in the word Arsenal.
‘Anyway – welcome Unai – Thinking big for A***.’
Dave said: ‘Not the best front cover of Arsenal magazine. I think they stood him in the wrong place.’
Another said: ‘I’ve never had an A*** welcome. Don’t think I want to start, neither.’
One wrote: ‘The magazine ran for years without this ever happening. Then Arsenal close it. Connected much?’
And another fan added: ‘It could have been worse, they could have blocked ‘nal’ with his head.’
The magazine’s front cover also had some unfortunate headlines that went with the X-rated error, declaring in bold letters that Emery has an ‘Eye for Detail’ and ‘Mertesacker: How he’s passing his Arsenal DNA on to our young guns.’
