Kwankwaso meets Fayose
A former Kano State Governor, Alhaji Rabiu Kwankwaso, met with the Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, at the Government House in Ado Ekiti on Monday.
Although the details of the meeting were not public, the two men after the meeting called for the credible and peaceful conduct of the July 14 governorship election in Ekiti State.
A press release by Fayose’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Idowu Adelusi, said Kwankwaso, who is currently in the Senate on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, addressed the Northern community residents in the state.
He urged them to live in peace with their hosts and exercise their civic duties during the election.
He said elections should not be seen as a war, but that the votes of the people must count.
“Kwankwaso also decried the spate of killings in some parts of the country, noting that it was the responsibility of the government to secure the lives and property of the citizens,” the statement said.
Asked whether he would defect to the Peoples Democratic Party, the former Minister of Defence said whatever was collectively agreed upon by members of the New PDP would inform his next line of action.
