Portugal Coach Santos: Our Defeat To Uruguay Not Fair Result

Portugal head coach Fernando Santos insists his side were unlucky to go out of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia following the 2-1 loss to Uruguay in their second round contest in Sochi on Saturday.
Paris Saint-Germain forward Edison Cavani netted the opener in the seventh minute of the encounter following a cross from Luiz Suarez.
Pepe equalised for Portugal in the 55th minute, while Cavani got the winner seven minutes later.
Cavani also made history by becoming the oldest Uruguayan to score a World Cup brace as the 31-year-old is 108 days older than Diego Forlan who also netted a brace against South Africa in 2010.
“It is not a fair result. The first time Uruguay had a chance they scored,” Santos told reporters after the game.
”In the second half we were more dominant, we got the equalizer, which was the most difficult thing to do but football is like that. It wasn’t to be and I’m very disappointed.”
