The dreams of Nigeria teenage sensation Samuel Chukwueze of making his senior debut for La Liga side Villarreal may be fulfilled soon as he has been asked to join the first team for their pre-seson ahead of the
2018/19 season.
The former U17 star was supposed to join up with the Flying Eagles for their AYC qualifiers second round tie against Mauritania but was forced to miss the clash after being called up to join the senior squad for their pre-season tour.
The promotion came at the back of an impressive debut season with the Yellow Submarines which saw him score over 10 goals for Villarreal’s cadet teams.
The former Diamond Academy star had a debut season to remember after joining the Yellow Submarines following his failed move to Arsenal, scoring eight goals for their U19s before being promoted to the team B where he bagged three goals on their way to the Segunda B play-off final where they lost to Elche.
Chukweze was an integral member of Nigeria’s team that won the U17 World Cup in 2015 where he won the Bronze Boot.
