Liverpool midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain likely to miss entire season

In April, Oxlade-Chamberlain sustained a serious knee injury during the Champions League fixture against Roma and was quickly ruled out for the remainder of the season.
After surgery for multiple ligament damage, an official timeline regarding the 24-year-old’s recovery was not disclosed but it has now been announced that the versatile midfielder is unlikely to return to action for another 12 months.
Liverpool have stated that Oxlade-Chamberlain has not suffered any setback, with it always been known within the club that the player would be unlikely to make an appearance during the upcoming campaign.
The Merseyside giants have revealed that it was Oxlade-Chamberlain’s decision to withhold the information as the England international “did not want the news to distract from the Reds’ ongoing Champions League run and the excitement surrounding it”.
