Former Super Eagles forward, Victor Ikpeba, has expressed shock over the bribery incident involving the team’s assistant coach Salisu Yusuf, Completesportsnigeria.com reports
Yusuf, who is in charge of Nigeria’s home-based Super Eagles was caught on camera taking cash from men posing as football agents.
The footage captured by controversial journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas in September 2017, few months to the African Nations Championship in Morocco where Nigeria came second behind the hosts.
In the video, Yusuf appeared to have recieved $1000, (N360,000), a bait for him to pick two certain players for the 2018 CHAN championship.
He was further promised 15% by the men posing as football agents of the players once they are able to seal a deal abroad.
“I’m shocked at what happened to Salisu Yusuf. This should be a lesson to all our indigenous coaches” Ikpeba wrote on his Twitter handle.
