Rohr backs ‘Victor Moses replacement’ Samuel Kalu to excel under Thierry Henry

Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr has said new Bordeaux signing Samuel Kalu is
a direct replacement for Victor Moses, who has called time on his
international career.
Chelsea star Victor Moses has opted to focus on his club career after
he played his second World Cup in Russia.
Kalu, on the other hand, cost French Ligue 1 side Bordeaux eight
million Euros when he recently moved from Belgian club KAA Gent.
“Kalu is in the team because Victor Moses is not coming,” Rohr said
while explaining the fresh call-up of the winger.
“He is only 21, a quick and intelligent winger.
“He cost Bordeaux a lot of money and I believe he will make great
progress under new coach Thierry Henry.”
Kalu is one of four uncapped players picked for next month’s must-win
AFCON qualifier in Seychelles.
The others are Jamilu Collins (SC Paderborn/Germany), Semi Ajayi
(Rotherham/England) and Kelechi Nwakali (FC Porto B/Portugal).
