Nine years after graduating from the University of Wolverhampton in the United Kingdom, Nollywood actress, Adesua Etomi, has been honoured by the university. The Wedding Party actress, whose face has been plastered on the wall of the institution in recognition by the institution, shared the news on Instagram on Wednesday. While reflecting on her time in the ivory tower and how she often worried about how to pay her fees as a student, Adesua, now one of the most prominent actresses in Nigeria, wrote:
“Today, I’m grateful for my university education. I remember how my mum and I would sit and wonder how we’d pay my university fees every single year. It’s amazing how God took me from that, to being celebrated and painted on the wall by the same university that we could barely afford.” Although she didn’t dwell much on what the honour entails, Adesua, who got married to Nigerian music star and label executive, Banky W last year, weaved a motivational message into her post on the achievement.
“It may look hard right now but hang in there, there’s nothing God cannot do. It will end in praise but remember to put in the work,” she wrote.
