Abdallah: Enyimba Must Work Hard To Beat Rayon Sports In CAFCC Q/Final Second Leg Clash

Enyimba head coach, Usman Abdallah insists there is still so much to play for despite his side securing a vital 0-0 away draw against Rwanda’s Rayon Sports in the first leg of their CAF Confederation Cup, quarter-final fixture on Sunday, reports Completesportsnigeria. com.

The hosts dominated the game played at the Stade Nyamirambo, Kigali but were let down by their poor marksmanship and brave goalkeeping by Theophilus Afelokhai.

“The objective was to win but we are satisfied with the outcome of the game. It is the first leg and the match is not won or lost yet,” Abdallah told reporters after the game.
“The winner will be determined in the return leg. This is the first time we’ll be playing Rayon Sports. We didn’t know anything about the team but we’ve seen their strategy today and we noticed that their game is not all about scoring.” He said.
Abdallah also praised their hosts for their impressive performance in the game.
“We were very cautious in the first half and we let them keep the ball and read them very well. At this stage, every team that you’ve seen in this quarterfinal is not there by chance and I respect the team Rayon Sports.
“They have a good team and they did very well. We’re going back with this satisfactory result and we’ll go back to the drawing board and see how the game will end up in the return leg.
“It’s normal for home teams to play. My boys played to instructions and we got a good result. Both teams were lucky not to concede.”
The reverse fixture will take place at the Enyimba International Stadium, Aba on Sunday.
