Zainab Balogun, Denola Grey, Ini-Dima Okojie, Anto Lecky at the ‘Sylvia’ Premiere
Sunday, September 16th 2018 saw the premiere of Sylvia – AMVCA recipients; Trino Studios first feature film. Set to be released in cinemas 21st September, friends, family, celebrities, social media influencers and film critics swarmed TerraKulture V.I dressed to the nines and eager to get a first look at the movie.
Sylvia explores love, betrayal, obsession, lust, conflict and a number of other emotions. The movie tells the story of Richard (Chris Attoh) who resides between the ‘spirit’ world and the real world. As a child, Richard has a ‘spirit’ friend; Sylvia (Zainab Balogun) who he loves dearly and vice versa. Growing up together, nightly visits and knowledge exchange was the basis of their relationship.
Life comes at adult Richard fast when he meets Gbemi (Ini-Dima Okojie) who he instantly falls in love with. Now he is faced with making a difficult decision between the two women in his life. Letting go of Sylvia is not as easy and she does nothing to make it easier. The story unfolds into a series of twists and turns and ends in an even more shocking way.
The thought-provoking movie is multifaceted and is sure to captivate the minds of the audience. Forecast to set the film industry ablaze, the movie left guests in awe. Many were eager for a sequel while others were too stunned to speak. The overall consensus was very positive and encouraging.
The cast and crew; Ini-Dima Okojie (Gbemi), Zainab Balogun (Sylvia)and Udoka Oyeka (Obaro), Daniel Oriahi (Director), Michael ‘Truth’ Ogunlade (Film Composer), Ekene Mekwunye (Producer), Babatunwa Aderinokun (Executive Producer), Uche Okocha (Co-Executive Producer), supporting actors Lolo 1 and Bolaji Ogunmola were all present on the night and beaming with pride at the movie’s reception.

The movie showcases what raw talent, passion and a good script can produce. It is a true testament to the forward direction of the Nollywood film industry as the movie is the first of its kind.
