INEC DECLARES APC CANDIDATE OYETOLA AS THE OSUN STATE GOVERNOR-ELECT

The Independent National Electoral Commission has declared the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Gboyega Oyetola, as the Governor-elect of Osun State.
The chief returning officer for the election, Professor Joseph Adeola Fuwape, vice chancellor Federal University of Technology, Akure, declared Oyetola the winner at about 1.am on Friday.
According to the chief returning officer,PDP candidate, Ademola Adeleke, scored a total number of 255,023 votes, while Oyetola scored the highest number of votes; 255,505, and satisfied the requirements of the constitution.
The rerun election was held in seven polling units across four council areas, after the initial election held on the 22nd of September that had Adeleke leading the APC candidate, was declared inconclusive.
