OSUN RERUN ELECTION: EU, UK AND US OBSERVERS ALLEGE UNLWAFUL INTEFERENCE IN THE VOTING PROCESS

European Union, United Kingdom and United States Observers at the just concluded Osun State rerun governorship election have raised allegations on what they called interference and intimidation of voters, journalists and local observers in some polling units.
Speaking to newsmen on Thursday night, US Consul General, John Bray, said, the international observers are very concerned about this negative development.
“we witnessed what appeared to be incidents of interference and intimidation of voters and had reports of harassments of party monitors, journalists and domestic observers.” “We are very concerned by these reports, and we will be checking with stakeholders to determine the facts,” he said.
He however urged all stakeholders to remain calm.INEC had announced that, candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Gboyega Oyetola emerged the winner of the rerun election, haven gatereed the highest bnumber of votes, thereby satisfying the provision of the constitution.
