TINUBU FINALLY CONDEMNS AKINWUNMI AMBODE; SAYS HE DEVIATED FROM THE MASTER PLAN

A former governor of Lagos State and national leader of Nigeria’s ruling All Progressives Congress Bola Tinubu on Sunday said he does not want to support the present governor of the state, AkinwunmiAmbode, for a second term because he strayed from the master plan created for the development of the state.
Tinubu also faultedAmbode, whom he supported in 2015, of isolating those who“contributed so much to our development”.
“Whenever a government departed from this plan without [a] compelling reason, the state and its people have borne the painful consequence of the improper departure,” Tinubu said.
Tinubu, conversely, admitted that the said master plan may not have been perfect.
After months of gossips, Tinubu formally validated the candidacy of JideSanwo-Olu, who worked under him when he was the governor of the state.Sanwo-Olu also has the support of all but four members of the state’s assembly and all the chairmen of local councils in the state.
But Governor AkinwunmiAmbode earlier on Sunday said the aspirant, who also served under him, was not fit to lead Lagos due to his criminal past and his mental health.
Yet Tinubu maintained that his anointed choice, having served in the last three administrations in the state, was better placed to continue the implementation of the Lagos master plan.
This is not the first time Tinubu will be opposing the second term bid of his endorsed candidates. In 2011, he was seemingly against the re-election of RajiFashola as the governor of the state.
Both, however, were able to resolve their differences and Fashola was presented by now-defunct Action Congress of Nigeria as its candidate.
