Human Rights activist and veteran journalist, Richard Akinnola has decried  the rise of internet fraud, popularly called, ‘Yahoo Plus’,  which he referred to as the latest epidemic of money rituals in Akure, capital of ONDO State.
Akinnola who raised the alarm on his facebook page,  said this trend had been confirmed by different persons in the city.
Akinnola, who is also a renowned pro-democracy activist, revealed that,  those involved in this evil business are mostly students of higher institutions who are between the ages of 18 and 25.

“I was in Akure and heard some scary stuffs, confirmed by different persons. The latest epidemic in Akure is Yahoo plus, euphemism for money rituals. And guess what? Those involved are young boys between the age bracket of 18 and 25. Some are students of higher institutions.  They live large. Very wealthy. Go around with small girls and these girls don’t know or don’t want to know, that these guys use their destinies for ritual purposes. This is real and scary. There is a need for a strong advocacy around this menace”, he wrote on his verified Facebook page.
