LIBYA VS NIGERIA: ROHR TO RETAIN THE WINNING LINE-UP
Joseph Omoniyi
It appears the Super Eagles Coach, Gernot Rohr may not be shaking up his Nigeria team, with barely enough time for rest and recuperation between Saturday’s game in Uyo and a five-hour flight to Tunisia for the reverse fixture on Tuesday.
The German tactician is expected to name essentially the same side which started and thrashed the Libyans 4-0 over the weekend, except for one enforced change;
Shehu Abdullahi, who suffered a muscle injury and did not travel with the squad.
Abdullahi will be replaced in the starting eleven by Ola Aina, the man who came on for him when he was stretchered off after 18 minutes.
The Super Eagles climbed to second on the log with that victory on Saturday and now need at least a point from Tuesday’s game to stay ahead of the Libyans as the race for qualification enters its final stretch next month.
Kickoff is at 7pm Nigeria time at the Stade Taieb Mhiri in the Tunisian city of Sfax.
PROJECTED LINEUP: Uzoho, Aina, Jamilu, Troost-Ekong, Balogun; Etebo, Ndidi, Iwobi; Musa, Kalu, Ighalo.
