ANAMBRA SCHOOL AWARDS BEST STUDENTS WITH GOATS

An Anambra school, Santa Mary Nursery and Primary school 2, Nibo, has presented pupils that came top in their classes with unusual gifts never received by students in the history of Nigeria education system.

The authorities of the school managed by St. Theresa’s parish, Catholic diocese of Awka, Anambra state, on Monday, 15th October, 2018, gave goat gifts to pupils that took first position in their respective classes from primary one to six in both campuses.
According reports, the school organisers said, the essence of the project is to inculcate the habit of caring in the Children and also to assist the children in paying their school fees through the proceeds from the goats as it begins to multiply.
“As the children learn how to care for the goats, they will as well learn how to care for themselves, parents, family, etc and the society at large especially in this milieu where nobody hardly cares”, an official of the school said.
Report has it that this is the third time this is happening in the school.
The management of the school also urged citizens that the unique gift and concept should be appreciated and supported by all.

They  added that, other communities in and outside Anambra State may also consider adopting it young ones are taught to honour traditions of love and care.
